Placentia Theatre Festival 2021 COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan
Rationale - As a result of the Government of Newfoundland’s Public Health guidelines that may be in place due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, our organization has developed a health and safety plan for the theatre season. This is a fluid plan and will be adapted as required by Public Health. By following these regulations, our organization will be able to:
-Continue to operate during the summer as a thriving organization. -Offer meaningful employment to our summer employees. -Contribute to the life of Placentia through theatre and music. -Entertain people with theatre and music in the safest way possible.
The Placentia Theatre Festival is essential to Placentia’s identity each summer and abiding by these regulations will ensure staff and audiences stay safe. Each staff member will be required to sign a Safety Protocol Agreement (below).
Our Protocols for Employees/Performers: Employees are required to stay home if they have any cold or flu-like symptoms and/or if they have been in contact with someone who has symptoms. Employees will be supplied with proper personal protective equipment and sanitation supplies. Masks to be used when physical distancing cannot be established. It is noted that several of our employees already share bubbles/contact and are not required to physically distance from each other.
All staff working on the door, etc. will wear masks.
Performances are held outdoors, and also rehearsals when needed and possible.
Virtual meetings and collaborations will be scheduled as needed, rather than in-person meetings.
Frequent disinfecting of the workplace will occur. Sanitize the workplace twice daily - washrooms, work areas, surfaces etc. Sanitize all instruments, microphones, equipment and seating before and after use.
Our Protocols for Venues/Performances:
Hand sanitizing stations will be at entrances of the performance venue.
Separate entry and exit points so that people are moving in the same direction.
Clear instructions will be provided for distancing in line-ups, entries, and exits.
